About Me

 I am a graduate of Rudy & Kelly Academy - A Paul Mitchell School in Virginia Beach, VA. I have been in the hair industry for over 15 years as a stylist and over 18 years as a salon professional. I have studied under top JPMS hairstylists such as Kelly Cardenas and have furthered my education with classes from industry platform artists Colin Caruso, Takashi Kitamura, Noogie Thai, and many others.

Behind the chair, I tend to shun the cookie-cutter approach for a more personalized & polished style that brings out the best in each and every one of my clients. I am a very honest and transparent hair stylist. 

As the owner of Prism Beauty Bar, I value a fun, professional and vibrant salon environment that supports my commitment to delivering above and beyond services. I encourage diversity & individuality and promote an atmosphere where everyone is celebrated for their different styles! No two clients will ever walk out of my salon with the same hair. 

When I'm not behind my chair, you can find me fostering dogs with local rescues. I serve on the Board of Directors with local non-profit organization Therapet: Animal Assisted Therapy and TAG+. I hold two degrees in Psychology & Criminal Justice. A favorite day out of the salon would be to work in the garden and lay in the pool in the back yard with my 7 dogs.

Sonia has been in the hair industry for over 10 years. She does flawless men's haircuts including fades, scissor cuts & edge-ups. Sonia also specializes in women's dimensional color. A perfectionist, she knows how to achieve any texture and her precise cutting techniques will make your look perfect from every angle.

When not in the salon, Sonia loves spending time with her husband & daughter, and reading.

After spending the last ten years behind the scenes in the salon industry in Austin, Shaun decided to move to Tyler and pursue his dream of working behind the chair as a hair stylist. He graduated from The Salon Professional Academy in Whitehouse and he knew assisting would be the best option to perfect his art. He started behind the chair at Prism and his career has taken off. Now, Shaun’s ready to be the master of his craft behind his own chair doing what he loves most! 

 Shaun is a blonding specialist who loves lived-in blonde and dimensional highlighting. He also excels in women’s bobs, medium & long haircuts, vivid colors, and is Brazilian Blowout certified, but enjoys it all! Count on Shaun to really listen to you and take his time to give you a customized service that will make you look and feel your absolute best. 

When not at the salon, Shaun enjoys watching random documentaries on Netflix, going to concerts, dancing and spending time with friends and family.
